September 13 Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Speaker: Shannon Kenitz, Executive Director of International Hyperbarics Association

Shannon Kenitz will be speaking about the latest research on Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) and its use as a treatment for autism. Ms. Kenitz will discuss what a typical treatment is like and what you should expect when you first start HBOT. If you ever wanted to know how to get started with HBOT and what to expect, now is your chance to ask questions of a parent whose child has gone through many sessions of HBOT. We have all wondered "how do you get a child into a chamber?" or "how do I get a hood on a child who has severe sensory overload issues?". These questions and more will be addressed at this meeting.

Ms. Kenitz will also speak about her daughter's amazing road to recovery from a rare mitochondrial disease and discuss the challenges that her daughter Grace faced when she was diagnosed with autism years later. Ms. Kenitz's story is one of hope and determination to pave a path to her daughter's recovery and will help inspire other families with special needs children to build their own paths of recovery for their children and loved ones.
